COVID-19

04.17.20

Good afternoon Paramount Academy families,

Thank you again for your continued support of your child’s educational development throughout these uncertain times. We have seen a great number of students and parents consistently driving up and collecting and dropping off packets on a weekly basis. Believe us when we say that it brings smiles to our faces to see the smiles on yours. With the new distance learning model, including Microsoft Teams and work-from-home packets, we also are aware that packets may be picked up a little late and be dropped off later than their due dates. As we separate and grade your students’ hard work, we want to emphasize our understanding and flexibility when it comes to your time and efforts in getting the work to us.

Typically, this week would end our progress report period, culminating in grades posted for the first five weeks of Quarter 4. After several meetings, Paramount Academy administration has decided that posting progress report grades would not be reflective of the hard work our Paramount families have put in over the last three weeks. Instead, we will accrue those grades through the duration of the fourth quarter, allowing additional time for staff and our Paramount families to continue working together on the weekly classwork. We will continue to collect packets and submit those grades to the Microsoft Teams platform so students are aware of when packets have been collected and graded and continue to monitor state and federal guidance regarding Quarter 4 and End of Year grading, including promotion and retention measures.

We have asked our teachers to focus on continued education and not to focus on matters still being decided by State and Federal governments, so Mr. Paquin is asking for all questions and concerns (including any additional needs for you or your family) to be communicated to him directly at directorsoffice@paramountacademy.com or 623-977-0614 x104. Thank you for the conversations you and the students of Paramount Academy have shared over the last several weeks to the teachers and staff. We miss you all and appreciate you all more than we could ever express through words.

Sincerely,

Paramount Academy Administration and Board of Directors

Paramount Academy has compiled a list of online resources for at-home learning activities. While none of the activities are required, we hope these will help keep kids busy and creative minds moving.
